CFOS Juneau Seminar: ‘Fisheries Co-management in Japan’

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences Department of Fisheries in Juneau will hold its weekly seminar Friday, March 5, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. online. The talk will be offered by Mitsutaku Makino , who is a professor at the University of Tokyo’s Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute and chair of the North Pacific Marine Science Organization Human Dimension Committee.

Fisheries Co-management in Japan

In this lecture, Mitsutaku Makino will explain the Japanese fisheries co-management system. He will also introduce a fisheries management toolbox and a social platform to facilitate co-management discussions among local fishers, researchers, government officials and other stakeholders.
