Charles Mason, professor and chair of the UAF Communication and Journalism Department, will discuss his newest body of work, "Denali through Collodion," online at noon, Friday, May 7.
Register for the discussion with the Anchorage Museum, which is displaying Mason's photographic project through Sept. 26.
Mason also will attend the exhibition in person on Friday, May 7, from 4-6 p.m. It opened at the museum April 30.
The exhibition is a tour through Denali National Park using a 19th-century photography process called wet plate photography or collodion. The technique dates back to the American Civil War.
Mason made the images with the help of a darkroom-equipped Volkswagen camper van. He was Denali's artist-in-residence in summer 2018.
