Check out drones in the library — literally
January 25, 2018
Drones are fun to watch, but even more fun to fly. Starting Tuesday, Jan. 30, people
can check out drones at the Keith B. Mather Library, much like a library book. Drones
will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.
UAF's Alaska Center for UAS Integration has set up a drone racing course in the basement
of the Mather Library, where UAF students, faculty and staff can check out a “tiny
whoop” drone to fly in the netted-off course. Before checking out the drones, all
participants must watch a short training video on drone operation and safety. After
that, they can check the drones out with their UAF PolarExpress card.
