University of Alaska Fairbanks computer science students are accepting proposals for
software design projects.
These projects allow senior-level computer science students to gain real-world experience
while government, public service and private organizations receive software free of
charge. Project clients are partners in the educational process and will collaborate
during the spring 2017 semester to produce a working software system.
Previous clients include the Geophysical Institute, Autism Resource Database Alaska,
Love INC, Fairbanks North Star Borough, city of North Pole, Bureau of Land Management,
Fairbanks Taxi, University of Alaska Museum of the North and the National Weather
Service.
Students will review submissions received by Nov. 28, 2016, and provide feedback to
the proposer. The final deadline for submissions and revised submissions is Jan.
16, 2017. It is strongly recommended that proposals be submitted as early as possible
in case a revision is needed.
Submissions may be made by e-mail to jdgenetti@alaska.edu or by regular mail to: Jon Genetti, Department of Computer Science, University of
Alaska Fairbanks, P.O. Box 756670, Fairbanks, AK 99775-6670. Proposals should include
a basic description of the organization’s needs and contact information.
