The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities approved the new associate of applied science degree in drafting technology at CTC last year.

The new degree combines instruction in computer-aided drafting with building techniques and materials common to construction in Alaska. The Alaska Department of Labor predicts a 19.6 percent increase in drafters employed in the state of Alaska between 2006 and 2016, exceeding the projected state average employment growth rate of 14 percent.
