At Family Day: Trees, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, visitors can talk to botanists and meet forestry scientists. Activities include a chance to make a tree habitat and explore what trees can tell us about our own history. There is no admission fee for children 14 and younger at museum Family Days, thanks to support from TOTE Maritime.

Other programs are included with admission, including Early Explorers, for children five and younger, which meets from 10 a.m.-noon each Friday through Dec. 16. Junior Curators, for kids six and up, meets from 2-4 p.m Saturday, Dec. 10. A newer program, Teen Studio on Saturday, Dec. 17, offers an opportunity for young adults ages 13-18 to create objects out of wood.

The museum is also offering an open Creativity Lab on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Supplies and inspiration are provided and included with admission. For more information about the museum’s programs and events, visit www.uaf.edu/museum or call 474-7505.
