Discover the science of skulls at the museum in October

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is exploring skulls at hands-on programs during the month of October.

Families are invited to drop in with children 5 and under at Early Explorers each Friday from 10 a.m.-noon. On Saturday, Oct. 14, children 6 and older are invited to Junior Curators to learn about the science of skulls. Teen Studio on Saturday, Oct. 21, offers an opportunity for young adults ages 13-18 to learn to identify skulls and practice scientific illustration. Please preregister at bit.ly/uamnteenstudio.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the annual tradition of Halloween at the Museum takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with bones and bugs, bats and birds. Come in costume and tour the museum’s labs. Free admission with a donation of canned food for the Fairbanks Community Food Bank.
