Facilities Services is currently performing an inventory of doors and locks in nonresidential facilities on the Fairbanks campus. In coming years, UAF will install a new keying system to offer better campuswide security, so this survey will give an accurate count of doors and keys.

Facilities Services staff and a hardware contractor will open doors around campus to verify information about the locks. The staff will not enter rooms unless there are additional doors to check. Facilities is placing tight restrictions on the surveyors to maintain building security, and staff is working directly with building coordinators for access to highly restricted spaces.
