Jeff Falke named leader of Alaska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit

Jeff Falke headshot Jeff Falke has been named the unit leader for the Alaska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Falke is a fisheries research biologist and has been with AKCFWRU since 2012. He holds a joint faculty appointment with the Institute of Arctic Biology, Department of Biology and Wildlife and Department of Fisheries.

The Alaska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit was formed in 1991 by the merger of the Alaska Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit (est. 1950) and the Alaska Cooperative Fishery Research Unit (est. 1978). The unit exists by cooperative agreement between the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, UAF, United States Geological Survey, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Wildlife Management Institute. It was created as a space for college-level research and graduate student training to support science-based management of fish and wildlife and their habitats.
