Candidates for an economic development specialist position at the UAF Cooperative Extension Service will give public presentations Jan. 11 on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

Presentations will be held in Room 252 of the Duckering Building. Kathryn Dodge will begin her presentation at 9:30 a.m. and Christopher Shove will begin at 1 p.m. '

The economic development specialist will develop and deliver programs that assist Alaska entrepreneurs and work with other agencies and organization on statewide economic development efforts.

Dodge is the policy research director at the Cold Climate Housing Research Center in Fairbanks. She holds a doctorate in human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate Institute. Dodge worked 15 years as a manager for Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. and eight years as economic development specialist with Fairbanks North Star Borough. She has been involved in numerous governmental, civic and professional organizations in Fairbanks and Alaska.

Shove of Dearborn, Mo., holds a doctorate in urban and regional planning from Florida State University. He served as associate professor at the University of Oklahoma for 10 years and at the University of Toledo for three years. He also was an executive director and dean at Missouri Western University for four years. Most recently he worked for several community and economic development programs in the Middle East and Asia.
