July 24, 2011

UAF will be conducting an emergency response exercise on campus Tuesday – Thursday, July 26 – 28. During the three-day exercise, there will be multiple test messages sent to the campus community via telephone, email and in-person mechanisms. There will also be a large number of emergency personnel and vehicles on campus during parts of the exercise.

Exercise activities will take place at a variety of locations on campus, including the Butrovich Building and West Ridge areas, the Taku parking lot and the University Park Building. Members of the public and campus community should watch for emergency vehicles and signage, and be prepared to encounter traffic delays in some sections of campus.

Watch your email inbox for more information about the exercise. In addition, those who are not already signed up for Nixle are encouraged do so by visiting www.nixle.com. Nixle's free service allows you to get emergency messages delivered to your cell phone via text message or email or both.
