Engaging rural, Alaska Native undergrads in Arctic STEM programs
March 3, 2020
University Relations
A listening session is looking for ways to better engage Alaska Native and rural Alaska
undergraduates in Arctic science, technology, engineering and math programs. The session
will be held Friday, March 13, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Wood Center Conference Room
F. The event will be hosted by the Interagency Arctic Research and Policy Commission
and the Arctic Research Consortium of the United States in partnership with the International
Arctic Research Center. This will be an open space for people to share their experiences, thoughts and strategies
on how to better engage students from the Arctic in STEM programs. Organizers want
to know what is and isn't working, and hear your ideas on how to make these programs
more useful to undergraduates. For questions please contact Sorina Stalla at
