Engineering grad wins 2019 Young Engineer of the Year award

Lauren Little photo holding award UAF alumna Lauren Little, a Department of Transportation and Public Facilities engineer, was presented earlier this year with the annual Young Engineer of the Year award by the Fairbanks chapter of the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers. This award is offered to registered engineers under 35 years old.

ASPE is part of the National Society of Professional Engineers and includes chapters in Fairbanks, Juneau and Anchorage. The Fairbanks chapter selects an annual recipient for each of three awards: Student of the Year, Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year. Previous recipients of the Young Engineer of the Year award include Ryan Anderson, Sarah Schacher and Chris Johnston.

Little graduated from UAF in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. She has worked at DOT&PF full-time for more than 10 years and enjoys working on Northern region and bridge design projects in the Fairbanks area. She was nominated for the award by UAF Professor Robert Perkins.
