Engineering open house slated this weekend

The University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Engineering and Mines will host a full slate of free family-friendly events Saturday, Feb. 23 during its annual Engineering Open House. All events start at 11 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. in the Duckering Building on the UAF campus.
Activities and demonstrations include the Micro Mouse, rock crushing, an earthquake and wind tunnel, the student rocket and satellite project, an electric hot dog cooker, building gum drop bridges and much more.
The open house takes place in conjunction with National Engineers Week, an annual event to increase public awareness and appreciation of engineers and their work. The Engineering Open House is sponsored by the UAF College of Engineering and Mines, the Fairbanks chapter of the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers and Flint Hills Resources. All ages are welcome.
