Extension Service celebrates 100th anniversary

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service Anchorage District Office will host a birthday party to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act on May 8 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at 1675 C Street, Suite 100, in Anchorage.
There will be prizes, cake and punch. Parking is free.
The Smith-Lever of 1914 established the Cooperative Extension Service to extend university-based knowledge to citizens. The Cooperative Extension Service is an educational partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the nation’s land grant universities.
