The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will host a certified food protection manager workshop Oct. 2 in Fairbanks and Palmer and at videoconference sites in Dillingham, Kodiak, Nome and Sitka.

The deadline to register is Sept. 18 so participants may receive class materials and locations beforehand. Palmer Extension agent Julie Cascio and food research technician Kate Idzorek will teach the food safety workshop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regulations require that all food establishments have at least one certified food protection manager on staff.

Register online at http://bit.ly/ces-workshops. The $175 fee includes the certification. For more information, see a flier linked from www.uaf.edu/ces or contact Idzorek at 907-474-5391 or kjidzorek@alaska.edu.
