Faculty invited to mixer on Oct. 17

October 12, 2018

University Relations

Take a break before your next class or stop by on your way home on Wednesday, Oct. 17, to mix with your faculty colleagues in the Regents' Great Hall.

This is a casual, community-building event from 5-6 p.m. featuring hot cider and a cheese-and-veggie tray. The UAF Faculty Development Team is sponsoring the get-together.

In addition to being welcoming and community building, this mixer will be a space for listening and collecting your thoughts on what comes to mind when thinking about these questions:

  • What does deep work mean to you? Why does it matter?

  • What limits have you noticed in doing deep work?

  • How have you worked to address these limits?

  • Who should be involved in deep work but who might not be? What matters about deep work to these people?

RSVP to Sarah Stanley (sstanley2@alaska.edu), assistant professor in the English Department, who wants to be sure to have enough food and drink.
