Faculty mentoring mixer March 5

February 24, 2020

University Relations

Faculty are invited to a mixer Thursday, March 5, from 5-6 p.m. in the lobby of the Akasofu Building to learn more about mentoring networks and how to become part of one.

  • Hear about “Mentoring Hub,” a new tool to connect faculty across campus

  • Participate in a “speed mentoring” activity

  • Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and mix with colleagues

Mentoring has traditionally been envisioned as a formalized, dyadic, relationship where an experienced faculty member guides an early-career faculty member. However, recent scholarly work in this area suggests that faculty benefit more from multiple formal and informal mentoring relationships with professional colleagues in all career stages (mentoring networks).
