UAF offers hundreds of national and international academic and experiential options all over the U.S. and the world. These are all opportunities to study away!

The International Programs and Initiatives office will host the Study Away Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in Wood Center. Stop by any time to learn what types of opportunities are available to you as a UAF student. Representatives from our study abroad program providers, UAF staff and prior study away students will be available to answer any questions you have.

Program providers at the fair include Semester at Sea, the Institute for Study Abroad, International Studies Abroad, the Knowledge Exchange Institute, the Peace Corps, the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program, and IE3 Global.

While you’re away, you can earn UAF academic credit that may apply to your degree program. We’ll help you find your ideal program, from a few weeks in the summer to a semester or two (or more!). You can even go on more than one exchange, both nationally and internationally. While some programs do have foreign language requirements, many others are taught in English, offer beginning-level language courses or provide both options. UAF financial aid, student loans, scholarships and grants can help cover your study away expenses. Alaska Performance Scholarship and UA Scholar recipients receive awards as normal on any study away program.

Stop by our event and find an opportunity to expand your education! For more information, contact us at UAF-StudyAway@alaska.edu or visit studyabroad.uaf.edu.
