Graduate students interested in marine resources and their management can now apply for the 2013 National Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship. This unique national fellowship provides eligible graduate students from any discipline with one year of paid experience (valued at $52,000) in Washington, D.C., working on ocean issues with a U.S. Congressional staff member or with an executive branch resource management agency. The fellowship has proven to be a great launching pad to exciting careers in government, education, business and non-profit enterprises.
The fellowship is open to any student enrolled in a graduate or professional program of a U.S.-accredited institution of higher education in the United States or U.S. Territories who has an interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources.
Included in the 2012 group of fellows are students completing degrees in law, agriculture, public administration, geology, and geophysics, as well as fisheries, oceanography, zoology, biology, economics, policy and other fields.
