Feb. 20: Spring iTeach Weekends applications
January 27, 2012
What are ITEACH WEEKENDS?
iTeach Weekends are five-day (two non-consecutive weekends and one Saturday) hands-on clinics offered by the Instructional Design Team at UAF's Center for Distance Education. These intensive clinics are tailored to help you improve how you gather and manage your own research, create course schedules that work for you and your students, build and manage online learning communities, and everything in between.
The clinic is led by instructional designers who know how difficult it is to teach in today's post-secondary institutions. If you've been asked to add an online component to your courses, if you want to teach online, or if you just want to integrate more technology into your classroom, they can help. The Instructional Design Team members all have experience teaching traditional face-to-face and online courses at UAF. The skills taught by the team during iTeach Weekends will aid you in creating pedagogically sound face-to-face or online courses that are fun, possess academic integrity, and meet UAF's academic guidelines.
Please note that because OIT offers courses in using Blackboard, iTeach Weekends covers Blackboard in a very limited fashion.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. We provide breakfast, coffee, snacks, and lunch; however, participants must
cover their own costs for attendance if travel and accommodations are required.
When and where is iTeach being held?
iTeach Weekends Spring 2012 will be held all day March 24 – 25 and April 14 – 15,
and April 28. All sessions will be at the UAF Center for Distance Education offices
in Fairbanks at 2175 University Ave. S.
Who can apply?
The application process is a competitive one, and all UAF instructors including full-
and part-time faculty, adjuncts, and CDE instructors are eligible to apply. Priority
for the Spring 2012 iTeach will be given to CLA faculty, but application is not limited.
How do I apply?
Complete the online application form by Feb. 20. Selected participants will be notified by February 24.
