The University Fire Department served up the favorite chili at the cook-off fundraiser for the United Way of the Tanana Valley on Nov. 8 in Wood Center.

The two-hour event raised $659 for the United Way. People bought tickets to sample chili recipes, then voted for their favorite.

The Nanook Diversity and Action Center sponsored the event. The center's staff thanks everyone who came out and congratulates the department on its winning chili recipe.
