April 21, 2020

University Relations

College students who are the first in their family to go to college and receive a bachelor's degree will be honored at a virtual baccalaureate cording ceremony Friday, April 24, at 6 p.m.

The ceremony for these first-generation students — neither parent/guardian holds a four-year degree — will be streamed live at media.uaf.edu. Supporters and well-wishers are encouraged to attend.

Once the event is over head over to the virtual program website. Visitors will be able to view remarks from Vice Chancellor Keith Champagne, UAF graduate Amy (Cross) Reggiani, and keynote speaker Thomas Hughes. Profiles of each graduate will also be available.

This event is sponsored by the Nanook Diversity and Action Center and Student Support Services. For more information, email Jo Malbert Narvaez, diversity and inclusion manager, at jhmalbertnarvaez@alaska.edu.
