First-Generation Student Success program expands

UAF's First-Generation Student Success program is expanding with the addition of Claire Swanson as its new graduate assistant.

Swanson, a graduate student in the counseling program, will provide support to the first-gen mentorship program and will be planning other workshops and events to promote student success and build community for UAF's first-gen students, faculty and staff. She is originally from Homer and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from UAF.

The position is the result of collaboration between the Graduate School, Center for Student Engagement and Division of General Studies.
