Flu shots protect our health care system

October 14, 2020

Tori Tragis

This year, it’s more important than ever to get a flu shot. Seasonal flu vaccines reduce the number of people who get seriously ill from influenza. That means we can save hospital beds for our friends, neighbors and family members who need life-saving treatment for COVID-19. Please do your part to help keep everyone healthy.

This 2016 photo shows someone getting a seasonal flu shot as part of that year's influenza vaccination efforts at UAF. Getting a flu shot is even more important in 2020, but you will need an appointment. UAF photo by JR Ancheta.
