Food safety training offered May 28

A certified food protection manager training will be offered May 28 in Fairbanks and Palmer and by videoconference in Bethel, Ketchikan and Valdez.
The food safety workshop, which is hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. State regulations require that all food establishments have at least one certified food protection manager on staff to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Palmer Extension agent Julie Cascio and Marsha Munsell of Fairbanks are the instructors. Register online by May 15 at http://bit.ly/ces-workshops to receive a study guide and class locations. The $200 fee includes one certification exam.
