Free flu shots offered across campus

The shots are free to employees, spouses and students, courtesy of the health center and the UA Choice Health Plan.
Getting a shot is one step that an employee can take toward receiving a $600 rebate on health insurance costs through the employee wellness incentive program.
Times and locations are below:
- Oct. 18, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Moore, Bartlett, Skarland Complex lobby
- Oct. 19, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., International Arctic Research Center lobby
- Oct. 20, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Wood Center upper level
- Oct. 24, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Butrovich 109 (regents' conference room)
- Oct. 25, 4-6 p.m., Community and Technical College downtown building, Ruth Lister Student Gathering Area
- Oct. 26, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Facilities Services hallway
The $600 health insurance rebate is available to employees who earn enough points. Spouses and financially interdependent partners are also eligible.
To earn the incentive:
- Complete your personal health assessment at https://www.alaska.edu/benefits/wellness/.
- Complete your biometric screening through your own healthcare provider, Quest patient service center, or an on-site screening.
- Earn five points by doing any combination of the following:
- Record your physical activity using Connected! (pdf)
- Attest that you don't use tobacco.
- Complete university-sponsored worksite health challenges.
- Take online classes and on-site education sessions.
- Receive lifestyle coaching.
- Make an annual wellness visit to your physician.
- Get an adult immunization (the flu shot qualifies).
- Get a dental exam.
- Get a vision exam.
