Rural Student Services has new advisor
January 15, 2016
Rural Student Services is pleased to welcome its new advisor, Minnie Naylor. She is
originally from Kotzebue and has family from Noatak and Shishmaref.
Naylor graduated from UAF in 2008 and was very involved with RSS. Her degree was in
rural development with an emphasis in community organizations and services. She spent
the past five years working in Anchorage. Naylor's most recent position was as a project
assistant with the Inuit Circumpolar Council-Alaska. Prior to that, she was the administrative
assistant for the UA Anchorage College of Education. She also worked as village access
coordinator for UAF's Chukchi Campus, performing similar duties to those she assumes
at RSS.
Naylor replaces Carol Murphrey, who became the foundation program manager at Ukpeagvik
Inupiat Corp.
