The Frontier Scientists website is a collaboration funded by the National Science Foundation as part of an informal science education outreach grant.  Arctic Region Supercomputing Center Director Greg Newby has been working with Liz O'Connell, of Wondervisions, to develop an interactive science education platform that uses short videos, blog entries and social media to connect the general public to research happening in the Arctic.

Current features on the site include updates from an ocean cruise happening in November/December 2011, following scientist Carin Ashjian's measurements of the Arctic Ocean and other waters around Alaska. Another current story depicts Greg Newby speaking about the role of computation in doing science.  Videos from the site are free to download, and have been provided to KUAC for broadcast.
