Geography candidate to offer seminars

Christopher Maio, candidate for a faculty position in the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geography Department, will give a research seminar Monday, May 5, and a teaching seminar Tuesday, May 6.
The research seminar, from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. in Murie Building 104 (auditorium), will discuss "Development of Sediment-Derived Paleo-Proxy Records to Elucidate Coastal Change: A 4,000-Year Record of Past Storm Events, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.”
Maio's teaching seminar, on Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the same location, will cover coastal geomorphology.
Maio earned his doctorate in environmental science at the University of Massachusetts-Boston and is a visiting researcher at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
