Entrepreneur to tell how to get an awesome job with a software company
April 1, 2014
Alex St. John, one of the most influential entrepreneurs in the technology sector, will return to Fairbanks to talk about computers, games and how to get a great software company job.
UAF eLearning will sponsor a day of lecture and conversations with St. John in Fairbanks on April 14 as a follow up to the Serious Fun Educational Games Gathering held in Anchorage on April 11.
St. John went from rural Alaska to a corner office at Microsoft and then into gaming. St. John attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the 1980s. However, his only diploma is an honorary bachelor of science in real-time simulation from DigiPen, awarded to him by Nintendo of America founder Minoru Arakawa for his lifetime contributions to gaming technology.
On April 14, St. John will offer four sessions. All conversations will be broadcast live via Hangouts on Air for those who can’t make it to Room 501 in the Geophysical Institute.
Mark your calendars for:
- “The Rise of the Personal Supercomputer and the Latest From the Front Lines of CUDA Programming,” 11:45-12:45 p.m., 501 Geophysical Institute
