UAF  faculty, staff and students are invited to attend two presentations on March 9 by Robert K. Doe, a senior publisher with Springer. Doe will share information on how to publish a scholarly book and how to write for journal publication. Doe will present a variety of
options, practical tips and more, based on his experience as an author, editor and publisher.

“Writing for Book Publication” will be presented at 10 a.m. on March 9 in room 417 of the Akasofu Building. The talk is ideal for first-time authors considering publishing an academic book, as well as experienced authors and book editors that are interested in diversifying and expanding their publications.

At 4 p.m. on March 9, Robert K. Doe will provide an additional presentation titled, “Writing for Journal Publication.” This event takes place in room 417 of the Akasofu Building and is designed for those new to writing papers for academic journals. Doe will also cover new concepts and innovations, including the Open Access publishing model.

Springer is a leading global scientific publisher of books and journals. In the science, technology and medicine sector, the group publishes more than 2,500 journals and more than 6,500 new books per year, according to Doe.
