Graduate student receives ASGP fellowship

Jacquelyn Smith, MS graduate student in the Mining & Geological Engineering program, received the 2012 - 2013 Alaska Space Grant Program graduate fellowship to study bathymetric mapping of Golovin, Alaska using WorldView-2 multispectral bands.
The bathymetric map will be used as a tool for modeling coastal geohazards in Northwest
Alaska.
Smith is a student with the Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys and UAF intern
program. Professor Debu Misra serves as her thesis advisor, and she works closely
with Nicole Kinsman at DGGS.
