Guest panelists to discuss coaching esports

The final event in the Spring Esports Speaker Series, “Coaching Esports,” will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, online via Zoom.

The Spring Esports Speaker Series is hosted by University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Management’s sport and recreation business program. It is co-sponsored by UAF Esports and the IAC content creation program.

Panelists will share advice with students about how to get involved in the world of coaching esports and discuss the similarities between coaching in gaming and traditional sports. Additional topics may include challenges faced by the coaches, their future outlook of the gaming world, and how COVID has impacted their routines and the world of competitive gaming.

Featured guests will include the following speakers:

  • Ali “Pew” Anwar – assistant coach, Vancouver Titans

  • Joey “Nubzy” DiGiacomo – head coach, Seattle Surge
