Guest panelists to tackle myths and stereotypes in esports

The next event in the Spring Esports Speaker Series, “Tackling Stigmas, Stereotypes and Myths,” will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, online via Zoom.

The Spring Esports Speaker Series is hosted by University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Management’s sport and recreation business program. It is co-sponsored by UAF Esports and the IAC content creation program.

Event panelists will discuss gamer culture, identify challenges faced by gamers from underrepresented backgrounds, and discuss ways to work collectively to help change the narrative in the gaming world.

Featured guests will include the following speakers:


  • Cricket Carlson - head of community, social, public and influencer relations at Kindly Beast

  • Brian “Nacho” Traynor - manager of marketing and team operations for Hornets Venom GT
