Gwen Holdmann part of panel discussing small-scale nuclear power
May 4, 2021
With rapidly evolving technology, shifts in energy policy and the regulatory framework,
and more favorable economics — is the time right for small-scale nuclear power, and
will it work in Alaska?
Gwen Holdmann, director of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, will be part of
a panel hosted by Commonwealth North that will explore these questions and frame how small-scale nuclear power fits into
the energy landscape for Alaska.
The other panelists are Launch Alaska’s Isaac Vanderburg and UA Center for Economic
Development’s Richelle Johnson. The free, online discussion will be held from noon
to 1 p.m. Friday, May 7.
