Hackathon 2019
October 8, 2019
The 2019 UAF Hackathon is Oct. 11-13 in the BP Design Theater, ELIF 401. The hackathon
is a weekend-long, multidisciplinary collaborative event. Participants form teams
to build a variety of projects such as robotics or video games. Materials, including
3D printers, are available, as are mentors to help teams out if they run into problems.
At the end of the event, a panel of judges will determine winners for each category
(automation, assistive technologies and Alaska), as well as a number of extra judges'-choice
sub-categories.
The goal of the event is to encourage people from multiple disciplines to get involved
in technology-based projects and to take what they learn from classes and apply it
to real-world, cutting-edge applications. You'll learn something new and maybe even
discover your hidden entrepreneur!
