Heart walk looking for 400 walkers

The American Heart Association’s Start! Heart Walk is Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park . UAF and Statewide's goal is to recruit 400 walkers to raise $40,000. We need your support to reach the goal!

Every year the American Heart Association has to turn down research projects because they simply do not have the resources to fund them. During the last Heart Association funding cycle, an exciting research proposal to study how changes in sleeping and eating patterns disrupt the internal clock and lead to an increased risk for obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease went unfunded. This study could have helped people dealing with diabetes and heart disease.

You are a valuable part of the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke. Your participation in the Start! Heart Walk will change the lives of others. Register to participate as a team captain or a walker.

Team Captains are asked to recruit 10 – 15 fundraising walkers for their team. Walkers can be university faculty, staff and their family and friends. After you register as a walker for the University Heart Walk team consider making a donation towards your personal walker goal.

If you are not able to participate as a team captain or a walker, consider making a donation to help us reach our goal.  If everyone contributes a small amount, we can make a  difference.
