"Snow & Ice," the First Friday art show held in the GeoData Center Oct. 5, drew about 400 people. The show spotlighted the photography of Geophysical Institute faculty, staff and students, work by A and J Photography, paintings by Sarah DeGennaro, and satellite imagery and photos by USGS Scientist Austin Post that centered on the theme of snow and ice.

Coordinators consider the show a wild success. Artwork will remain on display in the GeoData Center until the end of October 2012. Those interested can still purchase work displayed or order photographic or canvas prints of the featured images in a variety of sizes. GI's Design Services team will fulfill all orders.

"Snow & Ice" was sponsored by the Geophysical Institute and the International Arctic Research Center and coordinated by staff from the GeoData Center, the GI's Design Services and the GI Public Relations team. Based on the success of the show, more First Friday events will be planned on West Ridge.
