Is the goal of UAF leadership to run off employees?

I have to wonder if the leadership's budget strategy is to run off employees.  In today's CS budget column, Chancellor White talks about shared services as a cost-saving measure.  Why is it necessary to make this announcement right before the holiday closures when staff will be left to wonder about the security of their positions.  The feeling any more at UAF is that leadership does not actually value staff or faculty input.  Sure - input is requested - because otherwise, it looks bad, but it sure feels like the request is made to simply check the box.   UAF has some of the most talented, experienced and devoted employees around.  We have already lost many due to uncertainty and stress.   Leadership should stop trying to say the right things and start DOING what's right - the hypocrisy is ripe!
