Japanese exchange to host cultural event

The 4-H Japanese exchange program will host a Japanese game and craft event from 2 – 3 p.m. on Aug. 15 in the Noel Wien Library auditorium.
Japanese youth in Fairbanks for summer exchange and their host families will lead activities, including Japanese games and origami. Participants may also learn how to write their names in Japanese and decorate a fan.
A dozen Japanese youths are visiting Alaska from July 22 - Aug. 18 through the exchange program that promotes international friendship and global understanding. Four are staying with Fairbanks families.
