KUAC hosts 'Victoria' third-season premiere
January 9, 2019
KUAC TV and FM will host a free screening of the first episode in the third season of Masterpiece’s television series "Victoria" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Murie Building auditorium at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Set in 1848, the third installment of the lavish drama depicts a turbulent and uncertain time for both Europe and the British monarchy. With revolutions on the continent and the Chartist movement reaching its peak, the United Kingdom's Queen Victoria was under pressure from the government to leave London for her own safety.
“Victoria and Albert are the most famous couple of the 19th century," said series creator Daisy Goodwin, "but underneath the united facade, their relationship is at breaking point, and it is a struggle for mastery that neither side can win.”
No registration is required; just show up at the Murie Building auditorium, 2090 N. Koyukuk Drive, and enjoy the film and a variety of hot teas.
