Local musicians are invited to enter their original songs in KUAC’s Tiny Desk Contest. KUAC will make videos for the contest winners, who can then enter National Public Radio's Tiny Desk Contest, a nationwide search for the next great undiscovered musician to go on tour with NPR Music.

“We hope Alaska will be well represented in this national contest,” said Lori Neufeld, KUAC music director. “This community has a vast amount of talent, and we want to help musicians get noticed by NPR Music.”

Songs must be original, and written and performed by the artist or band. Entrants must be 18 or older and cannot be signed with a record label.

KUAC will select the top five entries from all videos submitted and invite the winners to the Alaska Live Archive Studio on Wednesday, April 3 at 7 p.m. KUAC staff will create a video that can be used for the NPR Tiny Desk Contest.

“KUAC has the Tiny Desk, the perfect space and setup,” Neufeld said.
