Last chance to register for Staff Appreciation

The deadline for registration for Staff Appreciation Day is Friday, May 3.
There are dozens of sessions offered as part of Staff Appreciation Day, Wednesday,
May 15. Sign up for professional development, health and wellness, safety, and personal
development. Visit the chancellor’s website to download a session map. REGISTER TODAY
Highlights include:
-- 8 a.m. - Breakfast burritos at the Wood Center
-- 11: 30 a.m. - Staff barbecue beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Lola Tilly Commons.
-- 3:30 p.m. - Longevity and Awards Ceremony in the Wood Center Ballroom followed
by an ice cream social.
Door prizes
Door prizes for attendees of the Longevity and Awards Ceremony will take place during
the ice cream social. Only current UAF staff members are eligible and you must be
present to win.
Sport your blue and gold
Show your Nanook spirit by wearing blue and gold on Staff Appreciation Day and enter
to win a UAF Parking Pass! Enter for drawing at the longevity awards. Winner will
be announced along with door prizes. Only current UAF staff members are eligible,
must be present to win.
Photo contest
Submit photos for the 2014 calendar Staff Council calendar and be entered to win a
Todd Paris print. Prints from faculty and students are welcome, but only staff who
submit photos by Monday, May 13 by 5 p.m. will be entered to win the photo contest.
We'd like photos of a sufficient technical quality for a large calendar. UAF sites
are preferred. While we're not excluding any subject, photos that have been best received
in the past are scenic, not photos of individuals. There's no compensation, but the
photographer will get photo credit on the calendar. Send photos to the Staff Appreciation
Day Planning Group at UAF-Staff-Appreciation@alaska.edu. You do not need to be present
to win the photo contest.
