University Relations

Sarah Andrew, director for Bristol Bay Campus in Dillingham, is stepping down from her role effective Oct. 2. Andrew has served the Bristol Bay Campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the past 20 years. Andrew had a valuable perspective and understanding of the community the Bristol Bay campus serves, recognizing the essential role of rural community campuses in local self-determination, workforce development, and degree completion.

With the departure of Andrew, Vice Chancellor for Rural, Community and Native Education Evon Peter has appointed Kimberly Williams to serve as interim director of the Bristol Bay Campus beginning Sept. 27. Andrew will remain with the campus until her departure in October to assist with the transition in leadership.

A UAF and UAA alumna, Kim Williams is Yup’ik from Curyung (Dillingham), Alaska, where she serves on the Curyung Tribal Council and is on the board of directors for Bristol Bay Native Corp. Williams currently serves as the grant coordinator for Bristol Bay Campus, but has a long history with the university in various support and faculty roles since 2000. Williams holds a Master of Public Administration degree from UAA and a baccalaureate degree in biological sciences from UAF.
