Leah Berman has accepted the position of interim dean at the College of Natural Science and Mathematics. She will replace interim Dean Anupma Prakash, who recently assumed the responsibility of provost.

Berman is currently a professor of mathematics and the chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. She earned her doctorate in mathematics from the University of Washington in 2002, and was hired as an associate professor at UAF in 2009.

Berman will serve as interim dean starting July 23 until a new CNSM dean is found to occupy the position. A national search for a dean is in progress, and candidate interviews will be held soon, possibly as early as fall 2018.
