The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host a free public lecture with activist Beverly Gooden on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Schaible Auditorium on the Fairbanks campus.

Gooden will speak about the complexities of domestic violence and why it should be viewed as a community issue. In her talk, she will challenge the common question, “Why did he/she stay?” Gooden will discuss her personal domestic violence story, reveal the most important questions to ask victims and outline ways everyone can help.

The event is sponsored by the UAF Nanook Diversity and Action Center.
