Why was the MACS pass for students cancelled? Was it a decision made by UAF or by MACS?

The cost of paying for monthly bus pass is an extra $300 per school year (if you buy half months for August, December and May). This added cost and the lack of transit adversely affects students without other means of transportation, including international and out-of-state students. Since transportation to and from school is essential for academic success, the lack of MACS transportation can be a huge barrier for students.

What work can be done to ensure all students have reliable access to campus, such as reinstatement of free monthly MACS passes or the ability to purchase them at a steep discount.
