Chancellor Dan White has appointed Margo Griffith as UAF's chief diversity officer at UAF. She assumes this role in addition to her current position as director of the Department of Equity and Compliance.

Griffith has been with UAF for 18 years and has extensive knowledge and experience in diversity, equity and inclusion.

“My time at UAF has been very rewarding and I look forward to continuing the great partnerships and collaborations developed at UAF and within our community,” Griffith said. “UAF strives to be a welcoming community where everyone belongs. A welcoming, diverse and inclusive community supporting and celebrating the contributions and successes of every individual is essential to the success of our world-class institution.”

Griffith will continue to lead the Department of Equity and Compliance, which provides a focus on the university’s nondiscrimination and anti-harassment policies and related processes, as well as compliance with civil rights laws. The department will continue to lead the Chancellor’s Council on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility, and other related UAF-wide committees and work-groups, while supporting and collaborating on prevention, education programs and events provided by other departments.
