Registration is now available for two master gardener sessions that begin in November.

Steven Seefeldt, the Tanana District agriculture and horticulture agent, will teach the identical sessions at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service district office at 724 27th Ave., in the Fairbanks Community Food Bank building.

The session that begins Nov. 12 will meet Tuesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. through March 4. This session will also be offered in Delta Junction via videoconference at the Delta Career Advancement Center. The second session starts Nov. 13 and will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through March 5.

Participants will receive 40 hours of instruction on horticultural subjects. Master gardeners who wish to be certified are required to give 40 hours of volunteer service to the community within two years of completing the class.

The fee of $200 includes a copy of “Sustainable Gardening: The Alaska Master Gardener Manual.” For class details and registration options, see http://bit.ly/mgfairbanks or call Extension at 907-474-1530. Delta Junction residents may also register at the district Extension office in the Jarvis Office Center.
